The Louise P. Zanar Fund was created in February 2005 in memory of Louise P. Zanar, a gifted writer, musician, local philanthropist and labor lawyer. Louise used her boundless spirit and artistic talents to bring people together and simply make the world a better place. In honor of Louise, the Fund financially supports organizations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area that provide disadvantaged children with guidance and instruction in creative expression. The Fund was established through the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region. The Foundation administers the “donor advised” fund by receiving and investing all contributions and maintaining tax exempt status for the Fund.
